Susannamma Varghese
January 18, 1944 - September 13, 2025
Susannamma Varghese, born on January 18, 1944, in Ulanadu, Kerala, India, was the ninth child of the late Ninan Cherian and Annamma Cherian of the Thadathuvilayil family. She grew up with her nine siblings in Ulanadu and completed her high school education before embarking on a nursing career in the Indian military in Bombay.
On January 6, 1975, she married the late Varghese K.A. of the Kulathumattackal family in Pullad, and they settled in Kolar, Karnataka, India. Their union was blessed with two children, Anil Abraham and Annie Thomas.
Susannamma had a successful nursing career, as a nurse at Bharat Gold Mines Hospital and retired as head nurse from Sambram School of Nursing Hospital in Kolar.
In 1996, she began attending Calvary AG Church in Kolar, where she accepted the Lord Jesus as her personal savior and was water baptized in the year 1997.
In 2008, she migrated to the United States and became a U.S. citizen at the age of 80 in August 2024.
A woman of few words, Susannamma became a widow at an early age and devoted herself to raising her children with love and integrity while serving the Lord in every way she could.
She is survived by her two children Anil Abraham and Annie Thomas and daughter in law; Steeja Anil; Son-In-law, Jogi Thomas and grandchildren, Johan, Johanna, Jovan, Jonathan, Hannah and Sarah and her youngest brother T.C Cherian as well as many nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
Her legacy of integrity and caring nature will be missed but never forgotten.
Susannamma fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. She has gone to her eternal home to rest, and when the blessed Lord raises her from the grave with a glorious body, we shall meet her on that beautiful shore.
His Mercy Endures forever!
